About Interior TM
The 411 on Interior Toastmasters
Since 1956, Interior Toastmasters has provided a tomato-free zone where you can have fun honing your communication and leadership skills. Club members handle the operation and management costs of Interior Toastmasters, which are covered by member dues.
The success of a Toastmasters club is inextricably linked to the success of its members. Goals are a very important part of ensuring that both individuals and clubs stay on the track to success. Our members have done pretty well in speech competitions!
Interior Toastmasters participates in several volunteer ventures throughout the year such as Interior's Diversity Days and Read Across America.
In 2006, we became a President's Select Club for surpassing our education and membership goals. You can read about communication and leadership goals Toastmasters members work toward here.
Although our name comes from the location of our meetings (Department of the Interior), membership is open to everyone. At less than $60 per year, the Toastmasters program is extremely cost effective. Why not check us out? If you're interested in visiting, drop by or contact us.
Dr. Ralph C. Smedley founded the first Toastmasters club in 1924. Since then, other Toastmasters clubs have evolved to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters International now serves about 180,000 members in 8,500 clubs in 70 countries.
